“ਅਲਖ ਲਖਾਇਆ, ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ, ਨਾਨਕ ਏ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਚੋਲਾ”

ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ (ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ)
ਦੁਖੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਸਰਗੁਣ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਧਰਾਇਆ। ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਚੋਥੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਅਰਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਰਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਾਜਵਰਦ ਸੀ, ਕਰੋਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ। ਉਥੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਿਰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋ ਇਕ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਿਰੋਪੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਉਪਰ 30 ਸੁਪਾਰੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਦੇ, ਕੁਝ ਆਇਤਾਂ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਬੀ ਫਾਰਸੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਬਜਦ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਛਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਅਉਣ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਪੁੱਜ ਗਈ।ਉਸਦੇ ਵਜੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗੱਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਚੋਲਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਦੇ ਗਲੋਂ ਚੋਲਾ ਉਤਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪਾਸ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ “ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀ ਇਹ ਚੋਲਾ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿਓ ” ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਈ ਇਹ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਲਾਹੁਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਤਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਤਾਰ ਲਵੋ| ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਜਦ ਚੋਲਾ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।ਫਿਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਚੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਡੇਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁਬੋਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਅਗਨੀ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਅਗਨ ਦੇਵਤਾ, ਅਰੁਣ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਰੂਣ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਚੇਟਕੀ ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਲੀ ਤੇ ਚਾੜ ਦਿਓ।ਉੱਥੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਸੂਲੀ ਸਬਜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲਹਿਰਾਉਣ ਲਗੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਸੰਤ ਖਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ। ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਜਾਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਆਪ ਅੱਲਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।ਉਸਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਮੰਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ “ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਘੋਰ ਪਾਪ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦੇਵੋ”। ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ “ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਤਿਆਚਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ, ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰ, ਸਾਡੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।” ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਦਿਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਬਣਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਉੱਮਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਤਾਈ। (ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਾਖੀ ਭਾਈ ਬਾਲਾ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।)“

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਇ ਬਿਰਾਜਨਾ
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਵੀ ਕੰਢੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ।( ਨੋਟ:- ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ 3 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।) ਇੱਥੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਨੌਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਕੇ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਕਿਰਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦਿਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਤਾਇਆ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਰੰਗਣਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ। ਭਾਈ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੇ ਤਰੁੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਗੰਦ ਨਾਮਬਖਸ਼ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਅਰਪਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਸੇਲੀ, ਟੋਪੀ, ਮਾਲਾ, ਪੋਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਵੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰਸੋਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਜੋਤ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਆਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਸਹਿਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਤੇ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਗੁਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਜੋਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਤੱਕ ਪੁੱਜ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਜੋਤ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਉਧਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਯਤਨ ਆਰੰਭੇ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੂਰੋਂ-ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਅਵਸਰ ਉਪਰ ਆਏ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਭਾਈ ਤੋਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਅਰੋੜਬੰਸੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਸਵਾਰਥ ਸੇਵਾ ਉਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲੇ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ ਭਾਈ ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ 'ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਸਾਥੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਗ ਲੈ।” ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈ ਤੋਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਧਨ ਭਾਵ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ।ਜੇਕਰ ਆਪ ਤਰੁੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਐਸੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖਸ਼ੋ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੀ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਲੇਵਾ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ। ਪੰਚਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਏ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਜੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬੀੜ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀ ਸੀ ਹੋਈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਰੋਪੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਭਾਈ ਇਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਇਸਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਤੁਸੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬੜੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਨੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਗੇ।” ਬਾਕੀ ਪੰਜ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਸੋਢੀ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸੇਹਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਟੋਪੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਮਾਲਾ, ਪੋਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਵੇ ਗੁਰੂਹਰਸਹਾਏ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਹਨ। ਭਾਈ ਤੋਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਇਹ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਸੇ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਅੰਤ ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸੁਖ ਨੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਮਾਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ, ਇਸ ਚੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਕੁੰਦਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਸਿਲਾ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਜੀਓ, ਆਪ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਮਾਨਤ ਦੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਾਖੇ ਹੋ ।ਸਿੱਖ ਵਾਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਹਿਬਜਾਦੇ ( 1 ) ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਸਹਿਬ ਜੀ ( 2 ) ਬਾਬਾ ਲਖਮੀ ਚੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਸਨ। ਵੱਡੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਸਵਰੂਪ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਗਰ ਵਸਾਇਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬੰਸ ਵਿਚ ਨੌਵੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਹਸਤੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਕਾਬਲੀ ਮੱਲ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੁਪਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਹੋਈ। ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਕਾਬਲੀ ਮੱਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਪਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੀ। ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਪਏ। ਸਫਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਾਈ ਤੋਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੋਹਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ। ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬੁਹਤ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਤਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਸਤਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇਕ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਕੁੰਦਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਬੜੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਹੈ। ਬਾਬਾ ਕਾਬਲੀ ਮੱਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਾਬਾ ਕਾਬਲੀ ਮੱਲ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਫਿਰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਦਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਪੰਜ ਛਿੱਟੇ ਜਲ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਉਪਰ ਮਾਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਆਪੇ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਾਗੇ। ਇਤਾਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਕੁੰਦਰਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਪੰਜ ਛਿੱਟੇ ਜਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ, ਪੱਥਪ ਨੇ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਅਦਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ। ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਸਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਚੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਰੇਸ਼ਮੀ ਰੁਮਾਲ ਵੀ ਸੀ। ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫਿਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਵੱਲ ਚਾਲੇ ਪਾਏ। ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਮੇਲਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ
ਸਨੇ ਸਨੇ ਚੱਲਦਿਆਂ ਆਪ ਜੀ 21 ਫੱਗਣ 1807 ਬਿਕਰਮੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ 4 ਮਾਰਚ 1750 ਈ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੁੱਜੇ । ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਨਾਈਆਂ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਮਣਾਉਣ ਹਿੱਤ 3 ਮਾਰਚ ਤੋਂ 10 ਮਾਰਚ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ 20 ਫੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ 28 ਫੱਗਣ ਤੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਜੋੜ ਮੇਲਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਖਾ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਸ-ਬੰਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ ਰੇਖ ਹੇਠ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
History of the Religious Allegory of Sri Chola Sahib

To free the world from the sorrows and sufferings, during 15th Century the celestial divine created the immaculate and omnipresent Lord, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He enshrined all the four corners of the world in the bliss of that ineffable divine. After renouncing the worldly pleasures and aspiration. Guru Nanak Dev Ji had undertaken four long travels to ameliorate the world. On his fourth tour, Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited the Arab countries. The emperor of Arab namely Lajwardh was a cruel and merciless king. To change the attitude and thinking of the people and his mankind, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji were blessed with a holy Robe (Chola) from the divine on which some holy verses from Quran along with some figure work of arithmetic of Nature in short hand were imprinted. The news of Guru ji’s arrival spread like fire and thus reached the emperor about Guru j’s arrival spread like fire and thus reached the ears of the ruthless emperor. His courtiers informed the emperor about Guru Ji arrival and that this saint is owning a beautiful holy Robe on which verses from Quran are imprinted. The emperor ordered his Minister to get that pious, beautiful holy Robe from Guru Ji. Obeying the orders of the emperor the Minister went to Guru ji and requested to take off the old Robe and wear a new one. Guru ji said he himself has not worn this so he cannot remove it according to his will. If they still wanted that, they could take it off themselves. Hearing this from Guru ji, the wazir (Minister) tried hard to part Guru ji from this holy Robe. Facing the failure to get this holy Robe from Guru ji, the cruel emperor his Miniter to torture Guru ji physically. So the Minister pushed Guru ji from a very high mountain. Drenched them in water and also set them on fire but how could the true lord be harassed by a man. The lord of water, air and fire bowed themselves before the immortal and imperishable divinity. When this report reached the emperor he got furious and awarded death sentence to Guru Ji. But see the miracle and greatness of the immortal supreme lord that the sharp edged tree (Sulie) on which the Guru ji were to be pushed, itself became a swing of the spring. At last when the emperor understood that this simple saint is Allah himself in the form of Guru Nanak Dev Ji he felt on his feet and begged to pardon his sins. The blissful lord asked him to leave the ruthless path and help and serve the mankind and he will be blessed by the divine. Guru Ji’s Last days at Sri Kartarpur Sahib
Guru ji infused the treasure of vertues in his followers and spent his last days at Sri Kartaupur. (Please note : Sri Kartarpur Sahib is now located in Pakistan which is almost 3kms. Away from Dera Baba Nanak, Distt. Gurdaspur). Here he spent more than 17 year in preaching and serving the mankind. He said that by contemplation of God’s name one gets true happiness. One who recites his name with a true heart become immortal and gets true knowledge of thec divine. The lord is the bestower and embodiment of blessings, all joys and happiness. Bhai Lehna Ji served Guru ji whole heartedly and meanlessly. Guru ji blessed him and entitled him as Guru Angad and gifted the pious holy Robe (Chola Sahib) and five other belongings like Sehli, Topi, Rosary (Mala) the Holy Book, a wooden Footwear to Guru Angad Dev Ji. These priceless and precious belongings were passed on to Guru Amar Dass Ji, Similarly these symbols were passed on to Guru Ramdass Ji and Guru Arjun Dev Ji.
KarSewa of Holy Tank (Sarover) at Sri Amritsar Sahib
The Kar Sewa at Amritsar was started by the fifth guru, Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji for construction of Holy Tank of Sri Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) Amritsar. People from far and near infused their devotion in this Kar Sewa. On this auspicious occasion one of the devotees of the Almighty. Bhai Tota Ram Arorrbansi from the Sohaan city of Afghan, country also rendered his untiring and selfless services. Guru ji were very impressed by his devotion and bestowed his blessings on him and asked Bhai Tota Ram for a wish. Bhai Tota Ram said Guru ji that he is very fortunate and have already been blessed by the Almighty with all the treasure of worldy pleasures. Still O, mighty if you wish, then bless us with blessings which could quench the thirst of our souls and attaining everlasting happiness by worshipping your lordship every moment. The fifth guru, Guru Arjun DDev Ji were so pleased his devotion. At this time the holy book, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were not ready in form. So Guru ji presented to Bhai Tota Ram, the holy Robe (Chola Sahib) and said that when ever he would worship this holy Robe. Would worship the Alimighty in true form and by its grace he would be able to cross the ocean of worldly aspirations. So they should care for it with pious and true devotion and dedication and further one who is blessed by the Almighty would get this Chola Sahib as a token of blessings and remembrance. The remaining five symbols were given to the Sodhi clan. Out of these Sehli & Topi is now at Kiratpur Sahib whereas Rosary (Mala), the holy Book & Wooden Footwear are at Guru Har Sahai a town of Distt. Ferozepur in Punjab. Meanwhile Bhai Tota Ram took the precious, holy Chola Sahib to this country and served mankind by helping them to worship the Chola Sahib and attaining the blessings of the divine. Bhai Tota Ram served Sri Chola Sahib with true dedication until his last breath. Before he realized that his life was coming to an end he placed Chola Sahib in a cave and placed a huge rock slab in front of it & prayed to the imperishable Almighty to care for this priceless gift of the lord and he left for heavenly abode.

Baba Sri Chand Ji (elder son of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji), the lord of immerable supreme super natural powers, established Dera Baba Nanak in the loving memory of this father. One night Guru Ji (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) appeard in the dream of Baba Kabli Mal Ji, the ninth generation of Guru Ji and ordered him to get the holy Chola Sahib back to Punjab from the Arab country of Bhai Tota Ram Ji. Next Morning Baba Kabli Mal Ji narrated the whole dream and discussed the matter with his family members and other devotees. The devotees requested Baba Kabli Mal Ji for their help and guidance in accomplishing this holy task of getting back the Chola Sahib to Punjab. Alongwith some of his devotees, Baba ji reached Sohaan, the city of Bhai Tota Ram Ji. People of Sohaan welcomed Baba ji warmly and helped them to accomplish the desire of the devotees and the Almighty and told Baba ji that Guru ji’s holy Robe was laying inside the cave which is blocked by a big rock. Baba Kabli Mal ji rested for a night at sohaan City. During his sleep, Guru Nanak Dev Ji again appeared and told Baba ji to get up early at early hours of the dawn and after reciting Japji Sahib and chanting Ardaas, he should sprinkle water five times and the huge rock which was placed in front of the cave will itself give a way and help him. Babaji got up early next morning and performed all the retuals with devotion and accomplished the task as been asked by Guru ji in his dream. Further along with the other devotees, he took out Sri Chola Sahib and one Chour Sahib with great respect and proceeded back to Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur) Punjab.
Mela (Fate) Sri Chola Sahib Ji
Proceeding back along with the other devotees, Baba Kabli Mal Ji reached Dera Baba Nanak on 21 Fagun 1807 Bikrami (4 March 1750) The people of Dera Baba Nanak welcomed Babaji and others who accompanied him, warmly and celebrated this auspicious and remarkable occasion. Since thus, this occasion is celebrated every year from the 3rd of March to 10th of March and fates (Melas) are organized in which devotees from far and near, in and around the country come and pay their devotions and are blessed by the Almighty. The whole programme is organized by Guru Nanak Bans with the co-operation of the local devotees of Dera Baba Nanak.
